ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Lisa McIntyre-Hite, PhD

Kate Kraft

Dr. Lisa McIntyre-Hite is senior principal of learning solutions at Guild Education. Prior to joining Guild, she was vice president at Pathstream, an ed-tech start-up incubated at Entangled Solutions, where she served as a strategic advisor focused on higher education futures. McIntyre-Hite was the founding dean for competency-based education and executive director for learning innovation at Laureate Education where she developed its direct-assessment offering, seeing it through from pilot to scale. Her professional passion is rooted in the desire to take measurable steps to address inequity in educational systems and to expand access to high-quality, personalized learning ecosystems. Her research in CBE and learning innovation has been published by the Clayton Christensen Institute and is published in several peer-reviewed journals. McIntyre-Hite serves on the board of directors for the C-BEN and American Institutes of Research Advisory Board for Competency-Based Education and Learning.

Kate Kraft has over a decade of strategy and innovation experience throughout the global education ecosystems, having worked with high schools, universities, nonprofits, philanthropies, accreditors, and corporate entities on a diverse array of topics ranging from education-to-work pathways to new program design. As Founding Director of Academic Affairs at African Leadership University School of Business in Rwanda, Kate led faculty hiring, curriculum design, and quality assurance. Her recent thought leadership included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s first-of-its-kind white paper “Unlocking Career Potential: Analysis of the Career Navigation & Guidance Product Landscape.” Kate did the joint M.A. Education / MBA program at Stanford University and got her B.A. from Yale University.

Grace Fowler

Engagement Manager, Learning Solutions

Grace Fowler is an Engagement Manager on Guild's Learning Solutions team, bringing particular expertise in design workshop facilitation, change enablement, and learner experience design. Prior to joining Guild, Grace was a consultant with Entangled Solutions. She started her career in college access and success nonprofits, supporting underrepresented college students in pursuing their post-secondary goals. Grace earned a B.A. in English Literature and Educational Studies from Macalester College and an M.A. in Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education.

Fred Cave

Senior Consultant, Learning Solutions

Fred is a Senior Consultant on the Learning Solutions team at Guild Education. Fred has worked in higher education for ten years, with roles in college access, academic advising, and student life. In his most recent role at Entangled Solutions, Fred worked with universities, community colleges, and non-profit organizations on projects related to opportunity validation, strategic planning, and innovative models for learning and student support. Fred earned a M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, a M.S. in Management from the Wake Forest University School of Business, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
